Your Cemetery Committee is working with our own Rueben Halpern to create a breathtaking memorial to the 6 million Jews lost in the Holocaust, and we invite you to join us to make this a reality.
Reuben is a renowned sculptor whose family survived the Holocaust in Poland, where he was born. He moved with his parents to Israel, where he was raised. Reuben is known for his sculptures, gates, and menorahs. He envisions the sculpture, as you see in the model below, as a tree planted on railroad tracks with its limbs and branches violently cut off. Six Mogen Davids represent the 6 million lives lost. This symbolic memorial sculpture will stand tall in Block 40 at Elmwood Cemetery as soon as it's completed.
